CAST ANNOUNCES 2008-2009
SEASON
THE
SOUND OF MUSIC. The Rogers and Hammerstein classic story of
a novice nun named Maria and her transition into the home of the musical
Von Trapp family. Immortalized on film with Julie Andrews as the
novice-turned-nanny, this family favorite features songs such as “Do-Re-Mi”,
“My Favorite Things”, and “Edelweiss”. The Sound of Music runs Thursday
through Sunday, September 4 – 21, 2008.
THE
LADY WITH ALL THE ANSWERS. Written by David Rambo, this one-woman
play is based on the letters and autobiography of advice columnist Ann
Landers. This funny and touching one-woman play takes a look at Ms.
Landers as she prepares to share a life-changing personal secret with her
readers. This show runs Thursday through Sunday,
October 23 – November 9, 2008.
SANDERS
FAMILY CHRISTMAS. A holiday extra,
this hilarious sequel to the popular Smoke on the Mountain takes place
in Christmas, 1941 and the family is playing together for one last time
before their only son reports for military duty. Audiences who loved
the great old-time music and silly antics in Smoke on the Mountain will
be delighted with this show. It runs Thursday
through Sunday, December 4 – 21, 2008.
LEADING
LADIES. The writer, Ken Ludwig, follows the gender-bending
lead of William Shakespeare and Billy Wilder in this sidesplitting comedy.
The “ladies” of this comedy’s title are actually two gentlemen trying to
pull the wool (or in this case a con) over everyone else’s eyes. Of course
the antics and switch-up results in much confusion and laughter.
Leading Ladies runs Thursday through Sunday, January
29 – February 15, 2009.
BLUES
TO BROADWAY. This original musical revue was created by CAST
Artistic Director Kimberley Dobbs and Michael Fauss, Musical Director and
Conductor at the Alliance Theatre Company in Atlanta, GA. During
this musical experience, audience members will be treated to renditions
of several of their favorite blues standards, classic Broadway showstoppers
and new hits from recent musicals of the Great White Way. Blues to
Broadway runs Thursday through Sunday, April 23 –
May 10, 2009.
